Making it Happen

Every things fine! With gas, food, and airfares rising and the economy failing, it is not easy to get classes and workshops up and running. Although, I met up with a troop of actors on the beach, called, "The Orpheus Players." They are interested in having a class there, so I am working out the details now. They are also involved with the local paper there called "The Sandpaper," and the editor, Carl Conley has just recently built a home for "The Island Arts Foundation," equipped with the soon to be completed "Purple Heart Theater". They are very fun and talented people and I am looking forward to working with them and possibly acting in and/or directing a play with them. In the acting process "Don't make it happen, let it happen," but in the business you must "Make it Happen."

Check out my front page for an article from "The Island Sandpaper" on Ft. Myers Beach

Dear Elizabeth,
So glad to hear all is well. I'm happy that you met that interesting group and I hope you all do "make it happen". I think we all want to hear some good news these days. So far 2008 has been a heartbreaking year for so many people.
Lets all try to keep the good thought and take care everyone.

Dear Elizabeth-
I live in Connecticut-
Seventeen years ago they decided to allow two Indian tribes to build casinos here-
Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun have been immensely popular, generating a great deal of income-
In fact last month, they opened a massive addition of MGM Grand-
This month they have announced their first employee layoffs in 17 years-
Reason-high gas prices have lowered the amount of visitors from other states like New York and Massachusetts-
It's being felt all over-

Dear Regi,
I totally agree with you. The gas price issue is hurting everyone here in NJ too. Such a shame and it's all so political. It is starting to cost me so much just to get to work that I actually opted to stay home alone yesterday instead of driving to a friend's house where we normally all hang on the weekend.
But I noticed when I passed the station I go to that the price had dropped by $.06. Light at the end of the tunnel or a ploy to get us apathetic so they can raise the price more for the holiday???

On the plus side, gas-guzzler sales are down, and less driving means lower carbon emissions.

Dear Elizabeth-
Congratulations-what a wonderful article-
You have really had a very adventurous life-
Have you ever thought about writing a book about your experiences especially living in New York and Los Angeles, I think it would be very interesting-
Good Luck on the new theatre venture, I hope it goes well-
By the way, I love to watch the series, "House Hunters" on HGTV and I recently say a segment on someone buying a home in Ft.Myers-
Very interesting, have never been to Florida-
Thanks for letting us share the article-
Regi.

Hi Elizabeth,

Did I read somewhere that you found a way to offer private sessions via the internet? I emailed you about acting classes and you mentioned Sharon Chatten (thanks for the info!), but I believe her classes might be too advanced for me at the moment. I thought maybe that Sandpaper article mentioned online coaching, but the article doesn't appear to be on their website anymore.

Thanks!
Christina
